IGLESIA was humanely euthanised on December 11, 2006.

IGLESIA, once the toast of Australian sprinting, has transferred his incredible ability to his offspring. His oldest progeny which are 4YOs (2006-07), have illustrated their prowess with countless wins in black type events through Foolish, Nova Star, Diamondsondinside, Ramiro and Written Tycoon, the splendid winner of the 2005 Todman Slipper Stakes (G2), and more recently, Reigart who finished third in the 2006 Magic Millions Classic.

The epitome of the classic competitor with a muscular frame, wilful attitude and an electrifying mix of speed and tenacity, and most importantly a winner producing sire.
Like his sire, the resoundingly successful Last Tycoon (Ire), Iglesia proved his quality time and again. In his freshman year of 1997, Iglesia raced six times and won half of those including the prestigious Silver Slipper Stakes G2 in Sydney. The quality of his early form was reflected in Iglesia's high rating for the Golden Slipper Stakes G1 of his juvenile year in which her drew the outside barrier, tracked wide and fought courageously at the end to run fourth.
Despite injuries which surfaced the following season, Iglesia returned stronger than ever as a four-year-old and entered exalted company when he broke the national record for 1200 metres with a blistering 1 minute 07.16 seconds in the Standish Handicap G3 in Melbourne.
Iglesia has more than the blood of Last Tycoon (Ire) and his own race form to foreshadow a great breeding career. His dam Yodells is a stakes-placed daughter of the celebrated Marscay and Iglesia is a half-brother to Yippyio (Qld Derby G1, Brisbane Cup G1) and Tyrolean (SAJC Brock Partners Trophy L).
